Community Car Scheme

The Bakewell and Hope Valley Community Car Scheme provides a caring, and responsive service, which is entirely reliant upon local car owners who volunteer their time and vehicles to assist people with a transport need. These volunteers not only act as drivers but also provide aid and support to passengers. The Car Scheme provides transport for the following appointments and clinics: hospital, GP, podiatry, physiotherapy, asthma, leg, nutritionist, dentist, optician, diabetic, alternative and complementary therapy clinics. Hospital visiting, hairdressing appointments, meetings and some local shopping can also be arranged. Other types of journeys will be considered depending upon the volunteer availability.
